Movies in the Park

The Humboldt-Del Norte Film Commission invites you to come to Eureka’s Sequoia Park for the final 2016 Movies in the Park outdoor movie screening. The free event starts at 7:00 p.m. with a DJ, continues with Loony Tunes cartoons, and the feature film starting at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 20, at 3550 W Street in Eureka.

In the 80's classic, young history buff Kevin (Craig Warnock) can scarcely believe it when six dwarfs emerge from his closet one night. Former employees of the Supreme Being (Ralph Richardson), they've purloined a map charting all of the holes in the fabric of time and are using it to steal treasures from different historical eras. Taking Kevin with them, they variously drop in on Napoleon (Ian Holm), Robin Hood (John Cleese) and King Agamemnon (Sean Connery) before the Supreme Being catches up with them. Directed by Terry Giiliam of Monty Python fame. Dedicated to Kenny Baker(Fidgit, also known for playing R2D2 in 6 Star Wars movies).

The public is encouraged dress warmly and arrive starting at 7:00 p.m. to enjoy music provided by a DJ and find a place on the lawn for blankets and lawn chairs. Popcorn, candy, and refreshments will be available by small donation.

There will be an information table set up on site with Film Commission volunteers answering questions about the non-profit organization’s mission of promoting film in the Redwood Region and the services offered to film productions.
